He Never Asked Himself, “Who Am I?”

He never asked himself, Who Am I?
as theology was written into his DNA

His foray into the knowledge of Self was
respecting the ancients and living in season

Treason came knocking, but he cared not for
the matters of the good hearted saviors in tow

To grow, for him, meant to live in a world
where contentment alone was worshipped as King

Not suffering for, but the offering of love
to, the reason and movement of his life flowing blood

Loved by his family for his commitment to being
that kind hearted man that treasured compassion

Rationed out hate in want of suppressing,
by allowing awareness to flower within

Herein lies the truth of his philosophy followed:
silence brought about a legacy hollowed
to find himself
in the oneness
of consciousness

This reminds me of how my father has chosen to live his life. I am so grateful that both he (and my mother for that matter) passed this on to my brother and me.
