This week’s prompt is: Seeking Refuge
“Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.”
– Maya Angelou
We all reach a point when we are so overwhelmed by the world and our lives that we need to pull back and seek refuge from everything that is going on around us. Some experience this on a weekly basis while many on a daily or hourly one. Some have regular routines such as meditation, yoga, or prayer, while others find peace in music, or going for walks. Whether it is done unintentionally or by design, most of us have developed some kind of coping mechanism. What is yours?
*What do you do when you’ve had enough and you need to take a break from all that is going on in your life? How do you regroup or center yourself when you’ve had enough? Explain your coping mechanisms.
*Write a short story, poem, or share a picture or song that shows how you find peace when you need a break from your life.
*Any inspired offering that somehow relates to seeking refuge.
Dungeon Prompts are meant to open up the abandoned rooms inside ourselves and dust them off a bit. Explore the recesses of your mind and get back with a poem, story, essay or creative offering. Link your post to this specific prompt page and I’ll share your link back with our readers.
To participate, all you’ll need to do is:
1. Tag your post with: “DungeonPrompts”
2. Link back to this page in the body of your post *
3. Dive deep within and give us a glimpse of your soul!**
*note: If the pingback doesn’t work, then please leave the link to your post in the comment section.
**If you don’t have a blog please feel free to join the discussion in the comment section.
