This week’s prompt is: Hard Work, What Does it Mean to You?
“All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today.”
– Pope Paul VI
“Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy”
– Robert Half
“Work your craft; until it becomes an art form.”
– Johnnie Dent Jr.
Hard work means something different to everyone. For some it means sweating out a difficult job every day. To others it means struggling to do what is necessary to keep their family together, be that financial or simply learning how to express love. To others it means struggling with recovery or rehabilitation. And to others it is fostering new ways of thinking through therapy or spirituality.
For what do you toil at in your life? Is it for something you love or for simple survival? Is it a physical, mental or spiritual struggle? What does hard work mean to you?
