Two friends were looking at my blog in front of me and talking about it.

Friend 1: Troubling the Surf with the Ocean (my blog’s tagline)? That just doesn’t make any sense.

Friend 2: Sure it does. The surf are those bubbles on the top of the water. So it just means that you’re bothering the bubbles with the ocean

F1: Like I said, it doesn’t make sense.

F2: No man, see, in Sreejit speak that translates to, “you really want to hold on to all your bullshit, but the fact that you understand there is a reality greater than yourself makes that hard to do, and that is really just irritating the shit out of you.”

I smiled, and nodded my head, proud to be so understood.

Note: I’m still not cursing anymore, but I can quote somebody else cursing – that is totally legit.

Did you understand my Tag line before Friend 2’s translation? What are some of your favorite tag lines out there?

  1. No I didn’t understand it, even after I asked you what it meant. I have been like Friend 1. Friend 2’s explanation makes it clear to me and I see that the tagline is such a good reflection of what your blog is about!

  2. Awesome. 🙂 This isn’t really a tagline…but I like it because, well it’s true: “Autocorrect can go straight to he’ll.” GLAD YOU FELT SEEN (as I did when my friend sent that to me after many, many autocorrect assumptions by what I meant/wanted to say). That’s always nice ❤
