You are love…

You are love, she
said with a beat that
didn’t start my retreat
the way it usually does
when somebody pontificates
emotion, ‘cause a state of
devotion was from
where it soared – to her
children, to the spirit, to
the world seeking our
obedience. Slowly it became
apparent that love
was the key, the door,
the journey, the war,
the apple,
the eye,
the feelings themselves
as they adored. Love lets
freedom blossom in a
mind previously enslaved.
Love gives the courage to
not only acknowledge, but
call out her name. Weary is
the soul that walks without
its light, as darkness spreads
ignorance until we feel it in
our bones, birthright bound
to the names and forms
we desperately call our own.
Love lifts our steps allowing
us to see, letting us know that
everything in creation is
connected at its core,
revolutionizing our thoughts
until love’s reality we
can absorb. The legacy of
the fight, of darkness vs. light, of
the world vs. the spirit, we needn’t
fear it, but walk with purpose
until we claim it as our own,
and realize that we can be
the arbiters of The Way
we travel home.

  1. The others used my word. Beautiful. This is so beautiful Sreejit. And also so true. Thanks so much for writing it in response to the prompt/challenge.

I can’t even pick a favorite line because I love all of them.

  2. That image of your eyes upon Amma says it all! What an incredible capture. I love the spin here because no one really thinks of love as a revolution (save perhaps the hippie era). My favorite line is “The legacy of
the fight, of darkness vs. light, of the world vs. the spirit, we needn’t fear it, but walk with purpose”… yes, yes, yes!
