It is all in what we read isn’t it? Everybody has an agenda. In a battle for faith, the word is the knife we use to cut up the mind – so tender. There is no one writing without a point of view, no one just giving the facts. One person’s hero is another’s villain; truth plays victim to craft. None of us are really educated, with our hearts always under attack. Do your own research, I’m all for that, but don’t call it a book from the shop. Grasping at truth is all we can do; certainty is a fool’s soapbox.

    1. I never felt more disappointed in humanity than the day Bush won re-election. I called in sick for work, and was just in a daze of disbelief. Today is the first day I got some relief from a bad back, and it leaves me healthy enough to see Trump looking as if he might win. I guess nothing is as disappointing as that first time your heart is broken. Somehow I am able to accept more easily now that this is the world we are living in. (Sigh)

      1. My first crushing disappointments in humanity were the days that President Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated but Bush’s second victory was certainly that for me too. Trump’s victory fits in that category as well. It is a day for me to remember that things happen for a reason and good can come out of all things, but all I see right now is darkness ahead.

  1. And what people say are facts are usually anything but. I particularly like and relate to “Certainty is a fool’s soapbox.” Yes, this is the world we live in and today, for me, is a day of mourning.
