On the road to extinction with heads held high, we are zombies lustfully craving the fight, caring not for our world as it crumbles and cries, as if self-destruction were our God given right –

– scavengers by way of DNA, clever enough to bring about our own demise, knowledge crafted to be misunderstood and power the reason for nurturing lies, emboldened by the sin of omission – of wisdom for profit, scientific knowledge trapped in money-making logic – we press forward determined only to win, worried not for our humanity, our kith or our kin –

– as muscle sways with chaos and confusion, we run with abandon towards our own dissolution.

  1. If you haven’t read 1984 recently I suggest you read it. It seemed irrelevant in 1984 but I can sure relate to it now. This post reminded me of that book. I’m almost finished reading it again. I like your metaphor of zombies. Seems right on.
