And you say you want it all –

– and you say you want it more than the peace that exists when dreams are put aside –

– and you say you need it to quench the desire that burns within, but is it desire for a dream or to cover up the emptiness?

I find happiness only when plans have all but ceased, being in the midst of a struggle where there isn’t time to think, whether stemming from an ancestral right, the day-in day-out hunter and gatherer plight, or some mystical, abstract here and now light, following desires never leads to peace, but through dropping them, surely, we can better understand the beast.
