On Humans and Humanity

It’s funny how we

humans need not possess

humanity – kinda like

having book smarts but

no common sense – redressing

the oppressed for succumbing

to providence, as if skin

color or sexuality spoke

to ethics or morality.

Spirituality is beyond

the realm of worldly bonds

and ambitions, so let the

theologians get it on

without care to higher

wisdom – without remembering

love is the only ship

that carries us to freedom

– or, fuck it, let’s just

go on cannibalizing each

other like true heathens.

About the author

I am a King without a Kingdom, in a world with many masters, wrapped in the spoils of a jealous heart, and my people’s callous laughter.

  1. This is so timely and accurate that you’ve inspired me to share some anecdotes on the topic. The state of our behavior toward each other, coupled with our warped view of spirituality vs. religiosity saddens me. Too many seem lost or brainwashed by the propaganda of religion.
