For the new Seeker’s Dungeon writing challenge, I am asking you to rip yourself open and put yourself back together again; explaining where you’ve been and where you are headed.  In so doing, we hope to help others understand that they are not alone on this path. Your submission essay or story should be between 1,000 and 4,000 words.

Whether random or by design, there are certain events in our lives that change the direction in which we are headed. These events may completely upend our whole “life plan” or they may nudge us with more purpose and passion in a direction we had already started going down. Many times our darkest moments are what ends up turning us towards a path of light. It is these soul shredding moments that I want us to share here. Let us in on one of the moments that took you from darkness to light.

The way you interpret “darkness,” and “light,” as well as “path,” is entirely up to you. But be specific in your storytelling. Let us, as a community, inspire each other.

If you have a story to tell, write it up, have it edited a few times and then send it to me at Also send a profile picture (to be used as a header image) and a short bio to accompany your article, as well as your blog or social media links.

If you have friends that you think have a story that we need to hear, send them this prompt. They need not be bloggers, just honest about their path. The more people we can get involved, the more beautiful and diverse the discussions will be.

If you’d like to view articles already written for this challenge, you can find them HERE.

    1. I’m excited to see where you take this. If you have any friends that you think would be interested in sharing their stories, please pass the prompt along to them. They need not be bloggers.

  1. Ah, yet another means of writing through the darkness or pain and into the light. I have a few friends/therapists who might just be intersted in contributing

  2. Thank you Sreejit for this invitation to be a part of this writing challenge. It is lovely and touching to find people moving from darkness to light and breaking through their own barriers with positive energy. Shall let you know once , I get time to write and share the same . Thanks.

  3. Hi again,
Is there still room for me in May? I am hoping to complete something over this holiday weekend ( life has been hectic and I cannot rush this process). The entries have been beautiful!

    Namaste, Linda
